Shorelink, Piteå, buys Gottwald HMK 260 E

To support continued growth in cargo handling capacity and volume and to safeguard a high level of reliability for its customers, Shorelink has purchased a used crane from Mälarhamnar, Västerås. The business deal was brokered by Port-Trade ApS.

The crane capacity under the hook is 100 tons, enabling handling of wind turbine components, a rapidly growing business segment for Piteå in the north of Sweden.

The crane, which is from 2006, was bought including the 45’ VDL container spreader.

HMK 260 E is an energy efficient diesel electric crane, which can also run on an external quay power supply. Besides being even more economic to operate, running on quay power also eliminates emissions from the engine, honouring the port’s environmental certifications. Also noise levels, already very low, are reduced even further.
The crane is transported on MV Meri, an efficient heavy lift Ro-Ro vessel, registered in Finland.
