HEM buys two electrohydraulic MRS cactus grabs to handle waste at Kristinehedsverket
Port of Rauma recently took delivery of their second VDL 2 x 25 t twin lift container spreader, type CH 6600 TA FT.
This spreader not only offers gravity adjustment (top photo) but also list adjustment (photo below).
List adjustment enables the crane driver to compensate for listing of the ship. This facility is especially valuable when serving smaller feeder vessels with cells and when ships are simultaneously loading and unloading ro-ro vehicles.
Port of Rauma took an active part in developing the specifications of this new type of spreader and are very happy with the resultant capacity increase. Port Director Mr. Hannu Asumalahti reports a handling rate increase of 30% with the new spreader type.
Port of Oxelösund, took delivery of a standard VDL spreader type CH 6600 LW, with 40 ton capacity. This new spreader handles 20’-30’ and 40’ ISO containers and will help secure more container traffic for the port.
Note: VDL spreaders were previously sold as Smits spreaders
