DFDS Torline chooses Gottwald also for Rotterdam:
New Maasvlakte Terminal is equipped with an HMK 300 E

Cooperating closely with Danish dealer Port-Trade ApS, Gottwald has secured a significant order for a powerful HMK 300 E mobile harbour crane from Danish shipping line DFDS Torline.

The brand new, 7-axle mobile harbour crane, which will be equipped with a new Smits Twin Lift spreader, will commence operation in the beginning of July, at the recently inaugurated Maasvlakte Terminal. At the new terminal, the Gottwald crane will mainly handle containers.

With its impressive 100 ton capacity under the hook at a 20 m radius, the HMK 300 E will also enable DFDS Torline to handle general cargo and heavy lifts at their Maasvlakte facility.

The Smits telescopic spreader type CH 6650 FT, which will lift 2 x 32,5 tons 20′ units or 41 tons in single lift mode, is a new development by Smits Spreader Systems and will be delivered in the autumn. Until then the crane will operate with an automatic Smits single lift spreader.

10-year full service by Gottwald

In conjunction with the sales agreement, DFDS Torline has also signed a 10-year full service contract with the service department of Gottwald. This is in line with DFDS Torline’s strategy, focusing on its core competences as much as possible.

Excellent experience from Immingham

DFDS Torline already operates their own Gottwald HMK 280 E at Euro Terminal in Immingham and the good experiences gathered there, were a significant contributing factor in the DFDS Torline decision to also buy their second crane from Gottwald.

DFDS Torline continues to grow
