Port-Trade has delivered another Terex Gottwald to Kvarkenhamnar AB, Port of Umeå.
Continued strong growth in containers motivated Kvarkenhamnar management to secure another large
mobile harbour crane, complete with a VDL 45’ container spreader.
The 125-ton capacity GHMK 6507 will mainly operate at Umeå Port’s container terminal, serving SCA
Logistics and other important customers.
The new crane will operate alongside the 100-ton capacity GHMK 6407 that arrived in 2012.
Since 1985 Kvarkenhamnar AB has acquired four diesel-electric Terex Gottwald cranes for general cargo,
bulk and container handling in the Port of Umeå.
Port of Umeå’s service and maintenance organization is very familiar and comfortable with the diesel-electric
drive concept and has, after repeated and detailed studies, confirmed a clear preference for this technology.
