4th. Gottwald crane delivered to ADP, Fredericia

Associated Danish Ports has bought another GOTTWALD mobile harbour crane for their Fredericia Terminal.

Enjoying a steady increase in traffic, especially strong growth in containers, ADP management took a good look at future equipment requirements and decided to add another large mobile harbour crane to their existing fleet.

125 ton capacity

Following the mandatory public tender, ADP chose a 125 ton capacity GHMK 6507, which is the second Generation 5 crane for Fredericia.

25% less diesel consumption

Main crane functions of all Gottwald mobile harbour cranes are of the proven and energy efficient diesel-electric design, saving at least 25% on diesel oil consumption, compared with diesel hydraulic designs.

Bromma twin lift spreader

The new crane, which was delivered with a Bromma twin lift EH 170 U container spreader, has a number of attractive features such as wireless remote controls, remote crane access (a.k.a. Teleservice) and positive air pressure in the whole crane, keeping out any dust from bulk handling.

Plug-in External Power Supply
With the new crane, ADP is breaking further ground and is the very first in Denmark to implement a 10kV plug-in external power connection. For this, the crane is fitted with a cable drum and cable, to plug directly into the public power supply. This further reduces energy consumption, service costs and eliminates emission of fumes from the diesel engine.

The length of the cable permits the crane to travel more than 250 m from a single socket.

External power connections are popular in the Nordic countries and Port-Trade is retro fitting several external power connections to existing cranes, mostly using 10-11 kV supply.
