Port of Kokkola, which is the third largest port in Finland and the largest in handling of bulk materials, has bought a used Gottwald GHMK 7608 from Port-Trade.
The deal includes a Bromma EH170U twinlift spreader and a 16m3 MRS motorgrab.

The crane, which is from 2005 and in excellent condition, was previously working for Zuidnatie, one of Antwerp’s largest terminal operators. Zuidnatie has purchased two larger Gottwald GHMK 8610’s, after which the model 7608 became surplus.

The crane is Kokkola’s first large mobile harbour crane and will be used to implement the expansion and diversification plans of the Port. The new crane will be handling a variety of cargo, i.e. containers, bulk and general cargo.

Port of Kokkola, which yearly handles nearly 8 million tons cargo, has recently been restructured into a corporation, with all shares owned by the municipality of Kokkola. The port plays an important role for the local community and is the workplace for several hundred people.
