Grenaa buys Gottwald HMK 360 E from Copenhagen Malmö Port

Recognizing that the world’s leading windmill manufacturers in Denmark are going to ship significant numbers of windmills in the coming years, and with turbines weighing 80-90 tons already to-day, the port has decided to invest in a Gottwald HMK 360 E mobile harbour crane.

With lifting capacity on the hook of 120 tons at 23 m radius, the Port will have a strong asset in securing further business in this segment.

In addition, Port of Grenaa has equipped their new crane with an 18 m3 MRS motorgrab, enabling it to handle various dry bulk materials, such as coal and wood chips, at much better handling rates than to-day.

The HMK 360 E, which was called Myrna in Copenhagen and has been renamed Thor, was put up for sale by CMP, when it became surplus to requirements.

Port-Trade, brokered the sale of the crane on behalf of Copenhagen Malmö Port AB. Port-Trade also undertook responsibility for moving the crane from Copenhagen to Port of Grenaa and the subsequent commissioning.
