Two Terex Gottwald mobile harbour cranes

Two Terex Gottwald mobile harbour cranes for EIMSKIP have safely arrived in Iceland
As announced earlier, Eimskip Islands ehf., a leading and growing shipping company, operating in
the entire North Atlantic, ordered two Terex Gottwald model 6 mobile harbour cranes.
During the summer of 2015, the new cranes were shipped to Iceland on board Big Lift heavy lift
vessel MV Happy Dover and were safely unloaded.
The first one at Reydarfjordur on Iceland’s east coast, where it will handle cargo for the local Alcoa
Fjardaal aluminium factory. Within a couple of hours after arrival, the new crane commenced
operation, unloading raw materials for the Alcoa smelter, from a coaster.
Before departure, the vessel took on board a Gottwald HMK 300 E, destined for Reykjavik.
The second new crane, shown below, was subsequently delivered to Eimskip’s terminal at
Grundartangi, where it will handle cargo for Nordural, Elkem and others.
